We all know her as the classic blond bombshell. She remains one of Hollywood’s most famous film starlets. She has been photographed countless times by some of America’s most influential photographers- still, Marilyn Monroe’s life has managed to remain shrouded in mysteries to even those closest to her. Even now, new stories from Marilyn’s short lived life are being introduced to a new generation of adoring fans.
Milk Gallery welcomes ‘Picturing Marilyn’ curated by the Staley Wise Gallery. The exhibition boasts never before seen images of Marilyn Monroe’s bittersweet life from the likes of photographers such as Bert Stern, Bruno Bernard, Sam Shaw, Philippe Halsman and Gene Korman to name a few…
The opening reception will be held on November 9th for an exclusive invitation only first look hosted by Bert Stern, Celeste Holm and Joan Copeland. Alongside our hosts a surprise guest will be donning a recreation of the Dior dress Marilyn wore in Bert Stern’s iconic photograph that serves as the exhibits centerpiece.
The night also celebrates the highly anticipated, upcoming release of My Week With Marilyn, a film produced by Mr. Harvey Weinstein- starring Michelle Williams, Kenneth Branagh, Eddie Redmayne, Emma Watson and Judi Dench.
‘Picturing Marilyn’ will be open to the public November 10th through the 13th. Don’t be absent for these few nights of nostalgic remembrance for one of the worlds most beloved icons.
