Simon Spurr Runway Photos

September 11, 2011

Simon Spurr was met with a standing ovation after tonight’s runway show at Milk Studios. Carmelo Anthony, Ed Westwick and Bryan Greenberg were among those gathered in the packed room this evening. The highlight of the collection was a pristinely tailored blazer with multi-directional striping. The design was inspired by the “dazzled ships” motif developed by Sir Norman Wilkinson during World War I to protect naval ships from submarine attack. The collection was a bold statement from the young designer. “I wanted to blur the lines between city dress code and country dress code,” Spurr told us after the show.

A piece of paper pinned next to the runway entrance revealed Spurr’s bullet-point instructions for tonight’s models: “swagger/ smooth + steady/ refined/ strong not fast/ proud/ elegant/ confident.” Indeed.
