In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy we found that thousands of New Yorkers are willing to donate their time and resources to helping those effected by this unavoidable tragedy. In order to do their part to help rebuild the lives of the victims, MIlk Studios joined forces with Waves of Water to throw Sandy Night Out. With the help of sponsors Smartwater and Russian Standard Vodka and a roster of some of New York finest Dj’s including Q-Tip & Stretch Armstrong, as well as a guest appearance by Mos Def that whipped the crowded audience at Santos Party House into a frenzy, the night was a huge success.
Among those donating their dance moves to the cause were Zoe Kravitz, Penn Badgley and Rasheed Wallace. In true New York fashion, a crowded room full of sweaty, dancing bodies and colorful strobing lights resulted in over $20,000 being raised for the Waves of Water Hurricane Sandy relief fund. This much needed assistance will go a long way to help our fellow New Yorker’s just in time for the holidays.
