Perhaps unknown to the masses, famous people are the biggest fame groupies but in fashion it’s completely natural that designers should turn out to see, after Raf Simons prêt-à-Porter debut at Dior, the biggest must-see show of the season. Hedi Slimane’s return to the French house, started by Yves Saint Laurent was blessed in abundance by his lover, husband, business partner and best friend Pierre Bergé who has always adored Slimane. Gossip and hypetheses about Hedi Slimane flourished on every row at the show, too many to mention, either too complex or too simplistic to report. We say, let the man do his thing, no matter how much past couturiers might turn in their graves to hear the following: in todays business the jury is only and ever the shop floor…
