Photo Storytelling: POLAROIDS
June 26, 2012Here is the last installment of our Photo Storytelling series with Isa Brito. Isa recalls the story behind each individual photo, giving us a taste of what she experienced with each shot. Her full show Passengers opens tonight at Milk Gallery New York RSVP here.
“After a long day in the darkroom, I was invited by a printer I met over the developing trays under the safe lights, to come over to his apartment on East 4th Street and Avenue B. When I walked in to the apartment, I encountered several young ladies tripping on mushrooms and taking polaroid pictures of each other. The apartment was filled with “borrowed” equipment from ICP, which allowed for a sort of free-for-all photo shoot. This image accurately portrays the events of the night, a meta land of pictures within pictures.”- Isa Brita
